教学内容:第九册UNIT 5 DINOSAUR (B)
内容分析:本课时是本单元的第二课时,学生在第一课时初步接触本单元主题——恐龙,能用一般现在时对恐龙进行描述。本课时以参观恐龙博物馆后回到学校为情景,要求学生对不同类型的恐龙的外貌特征、习性和生境用一般过去时进行描述。

【学习目标】
初步认识和运用不规则动词过去式描述过去发生的事情。

【学习重难点】
不规则动词过去式ran,drank,ate,had的发音及运用。

【学习者特征】
五年级的学生,对本课所谈论的题材“恐龙”已经有一定的认识,已经掌握用于一般现在时描述动物外貌特征、习性和生存环境的能力。这些知识已经在本单元的第一课时进行了复习和学习综合表述。
学生的英语表述能力具有差异性,部分学生对于这个话题熟悉程度也较差。有的学生还没能理解什么要用一般过去时来描述过去的事物。

Greeting and warm-up
Teacher asks the following question to arouse the attention of the simple past tense.
Question 1: What’s the date today?
Question 2: What was the date yesterday?
Question 3: What day is today?
Question 4: What day was yesterday?
Encourage the students to ask questions like this. Choose two pairs of students to make dialogues using ‘What did you do yesterday?’
设计意图:通过对同方面问题的一般现在时和一般过去时的提问,让学生意识到两种时态在英语表述中的差异,提高学生使用一般过去时表达过去事物的意识。

Revision
Show the best homework of last lesson which is to write about the dinosaur you like best.
Show the best homework to the students. Ask the students to find out mistakes and correct them. Then read together.
设计意图:学生在网上讨论区提交作业,同学间可以相互评论及提出修改意见,增加了生生间的互动。课堂展示最佳作业能让学生获得成就感,并促进学生的写作积极性。

Presentation
3.1 Listening exercise B3 (p.43)
T: You wrote about the dinosaur you like. Pat and her friends went to the Dinosaur Museum. Do you know which dinosaur is Pat’s favorite? Now, let’s listen.
Students listen and choose the answer on the integrated platform.
Teacher checks the Students’ answers and ask the students to talk about why Pat likes this dinosaur.
3.2 Listening exercise B1 (p.42)
T: Pat is doing a writing report about the visit of the Dinosaur Museum. Can you help her to check the report?
Students match the notes (simple present tense sentences) to the sentences that Pat wrote (simple past tense sentences).
3.3 Reading exercise B1 (p.42)
T: Tim is doing the report, can you help him?
Students do the true or false exercise according to the phrases.
设计意图:运用练习检测,老师能够即时看到学生的答题情况。从反馈情况了解到学生对于知识的掌握情况,可以对后面的教学进行有针对性的调节。

Practice
4.1 Talk about the dinosaur, listen and read.
Teacher shows a picture to the students. Ask the students to talk about the dinosaur.
- How did it look like?
- What did it eat?
- Did it walk slowly?
Then students listen and read the passage by themselves on line.

4.2 Talk about the dinosaur, read and write.
Teacher shows another picture to the students. Ask the students to talk about the dinosaur.
- How did it look like?
- What did it eat?
- Did it walk slowly?
Then students read the phrases and fill in the blanks.
Teacher checks the answers. When the students made mistakes, teacher gives explanations.
设计意图:通过填空练习检查学生是否能够掌握不规则动词过去式的写法。老师们可以看到学生具体的答题情况,对于特殊的回答方式可以针对进行辅导。

Consolidation and extension
5.1 Read the present form and past form of the verbs.
Show the present and past for of the irregular verbs. Ask the student to read together.
5.2 Dinosaurs in China.
T: Archaeologist found dinosaur bones in China, too. Do you know dinosaurs found in China? Now let’s surf the Internet to find some information about dinosaurs in China. (Divide the students into group of five or six, ask the students to search different information of the dinosaurs and post them in forum.)
设计意图:平台的讨论区可以让学生自由分享网上搜索的信息,文字、图片、声音等文档都可以在此分享,学生可以在网上共同讨论一个问题,共同学习。

Homework
Choose the most valuable informations and put them together. Write a passage to introduce the dinosaur you studied. Make a PPT to present in next class.
设计意图:自主学习中对于信息的筛选能力是非常重要的,这个活动可以训练学生如何根据目的选择有用的信息。
