【教学内容】

本课是Unit 2第一课时。学生在Unit1已经掌握了能用介词词组作定语描述人的衣着。本节课要学习一些描述人物特征的词汇。学会用描述人物的外表特征。通过唱歌学习，自主听、看图对话等活动，充分调动学生学习的主动性，使学生能够结合不同的情景，灵活运用本课的所学的句型以及已学句型进行英语交际，学会介绍自己的愿望。

【设计理念】

以语言运用为中心，借助现代信息技术，努力为学生创设理想的英语学习环境，提供丰富的拓展资源，以“听、说”为突破口，开展看图会话，协作表演等多种活动，让学生在颇为真实的语言情境中进行语言交际，培养学生的听、说技能，提高语言的综合运用能力。

【教学对象分析】

四年级的学生天真活泼，爱唱爱演，喜欢玩游戏。所以本课时涉及到的词汇及句型，教师要充分利用TPR活动、游戏、比赛等方法帮助学生理解和上口。

【教学目标】

1.Language knowledge：

Vocabulary： kind ,shy, round , friendly

Drills: What is .. like? He/she has a ..eyes and a ..mouth…

2.Language skill：

(1)Asking about someone’s appearance.

(2)Taking about new teachers /classmates: relate people with physical appearance and personalities.

3.Affect：

在学习中培养学生对家庭、同学、老师的热爱，学会赞美别人。

4.Learning Strategies：

学会倾听，并能从中提取相关的信息；培养学生在日常生活中迁移运用英语的意识和协作学习的良好习惯。

【教学过程】

一、 Warm up& Revision 

1.sing a song: I am a fine musician

2.Chant: father tall, mother short.

         Brother big, sister small.

3.Free talk:为学生提供一幅图, 打上以下key points：

 A: Look at the ______. Who’s ______?

B: Which one?

A: The one _________________.(with glasses/ in a …)

B: I don’t know ______ .

   ____ looks like a ________.

  T: There are many people here, please choose one to talk with your partner.

先T-P 对话, 然后两两操练, 提问检查效果.

二、Presentation

1、The children look very happy? Why ? (good news) Yes, a new teacher is coming to their school. What is the teacher like ? Let’s guess.

2.教师设问：Is the new teacher really a lady/tall/young…?

3.Look the new teacher is coming. Is she …or …? Which is the new teacher?

What is she like?

板书：What is she like ? She has green eyes and  a small mouth .带读板书的句子。

4.学生两两说介绍三位小朋友，出示：以下key points

 Which is ______ ? What is ______ like?

5.Do you thing the children like the new teacher? Why?学习新单词kind 和shy.

6.The new teacher is shy. Let’s help her meet some other teachers.

操练What is he /she like? 学生通过读词条判断词条是描述哪一位老师。

7.学习旧单词和见词读音的方法学习round 和friendly.
