本课是新起点一年级下册第十四单元的第79课，主要是学习几种常见的衣服名称，是本单元的起始课。本套教材的教学目的是激发学生学习英语的兴趣，培养他们英语学习的积极态度，使他们建立初步的学习英语的自信心；培养学生一定的语感和良好的语音、语调并初步打下良好的书写基础；培养良好的学习习惯；培养他们初步用英语进行简单日常交际的能力。

本课的教学设计，注重开发自主学习能力，发掘学生积极求知的潜能，根据学生的年龄及心理特点，精选学生最感爱好、最易接受的内容，采用灵活多样、活泼有趣的教学形式，力求实现能力培养与知识渗透的完美结合，突出语言的交际功能及其工具性特点，以发展语言实践能力为主线，以培养学生用英语进行交际的能力为目的。
